The Spartacus Peak (English; Bulgarian връх Спартак wrach Spartak ) is an approximately 650 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In the Delchev Ridge of the Tangra Mountains, it rises southwest of Trigrad Gap , 0.9 km east-northeast of Delchev Peak , 0.8 km southwest of Yavorov Peak and 1.3 km south of Rodopi Peak . The Sopot Piedmont Glacier is north of it.
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named him in 2004 after the Roman slave and gladiator Spartacus († 71 BC ), whose birthplace is said to be in the region around the town of Sandanski in southwestern Bulgaria .
