Speedway Motorsports, Inc. ( SMI ) is a US company founded by Bruton Smith that owns and manages the NASCAR Sprint Cup and other racing series.

It owns around a third of all the race tracks in the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Speedway Motorsports also owns the Performance Racing Network , a radio station group that broadcasts the races on the racetracks.

Other investments include North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Wilkesboro , North Carolina , in which the company has a 50% interest, and full ownership of the closed North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, North Carolina . The move to get races on the speedway in Texas by buying and closing racetracks resulted in the Ferko lawsuit , a competition lawsuit by Speedway Motorsports against NASCAR and the International Speedway Corporation , after which it was awarded a second race on the speedway.

The races on the Speedway Motorsports tracks are known for elaborate pre-start shows, often paired with demonstrations by the armed forces of the United States .
