Kąpławki ([ kɔmˈpwafkʲi ], German  Kamplack ) is a village in Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the municipality of Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

The village is located about 13 kilometers northwest of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ) and 5 kilometers southwest of Barciany. The Polish state border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast runs about 15 kilometers north of Kąpławki.

history

Today's Kąpławki was created in 1338 and mentioned as Campolaukis . The Prussian name goes back to "kampas, kampe" (Werder, corner, angle) and "laucas" (field, field). At that time the village consisted of a manor with an area of ​​60  Hufe according to Kulmer law , a fiefdom of 2.5 Hufe in size and two fiefdoms with Magdeburg law .

In 1785 there were 17 residential buildings in Kąpławki, and in 1817 there were 16 residential buildings with 147 inhabitants. In 1874 Kamp paint was in the District Dönhofstädt incorporated, which existed until 1945 and the county Rastenburg in the administrative district of Kaliningrad in the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In May 1939, 172 people lived in the village.

In January 1945 the Red Army occupied the area. As a result of the Second World War , the village became part of Poland. In the same year, a seven-class school was opened in which a total of 26 students went. The population had dropped significantly after the war. In 1970 only 70 people lived in Kąpławki. From 1973, after the dissolution of the Gromadas , the village formed a Schulzenamt , to which the village of Plinkajmy (Köllmisch Plienkeim) still belonged. Today it is part of the Wilkowo Małe Schulzenamt (Klein Wolfsdorf) . within the Gmina Barciany in the Powiat Kętrzyński .

In the course of an administrative reform, the village, which was previously administratively in the Olsztyn Voivodeship , came to the newly formed Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in 1999. In 2010 there were 34 people in Kąpławki.

A side road leads through Kąpławki, which joins Voivodeship Road 590 about three kilometers to the west . In a south-easterly direction it divides after five kilometers and then joins Voivodship Street 591 (former German Reichsstrasse 141 ).

The next train station is in Korsze, 10 kilometers southwest . Kętrzyn, about 14 kilometers south, also has a train station.

The nearest international airport is Kaliningrad Airport, about 90 kilometers north of Karolewo on Russian territory. About 190 kilometers to the west is Gdansk Lech Wałęsa Airport , which is the nearest international airport on Polish territory. The Szczytno-Szymany airport is located about 110 kilometers south of Karolewo although it has not adjusted its flight operation at the end of 2006.
