Wilkowo Małe ( German  Klein Wolfsdorf ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Barciany (rural community Barten ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Wilkowo Małe is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 15 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

Klein Wolfsdorf was a very large Vorwerk and until 1928 belonged to the Dönhofstädt manor district ( Drogosze in Polish ), then until 1945 to the rural community of the same name in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg . In 1785 it was called "noble Vorwerk with 5 fireplaces". In 1820 there were 61 registered residents, in 1885 128 and in 1905 101.

As a result of the war, the village came to Poland in 1945 with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of name "Wilkowo Małe". Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a village in the community of Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Until 1945, Klein Wolfsdorf was parish in the district of Groß Wolfsdorf of the united Protestant parishes Groß Wolfsdorf -Dönhofstädt in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church in Korschen (in Polish: Korsze ) in what was then the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Wilkowo Małe belongs to the Evangelical Church of Barciany (Barten) , a branch of the parish Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , and also to the Catholic parish of Drogosze (Dönhofstädt) in what is now the Archdiocese of Warmia .

Wilkowo Małe is located on a side road that connects the Voivodship Road 590 near Drogosze ( Groß Wolfsdorf locality ) via Kąpławki (Kamplack) with the Voivodship road 591 (former German Reichsstraße 141 ) near Winda . There is no train connection.
