Garbnik ( German Garbnick ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Barciany (rural community Barten ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Grabnik is a hamlet in the village of Wilkowo Małe ( German Klein Wolfsdorf ) and is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 14 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn (German Rastenburg ).
history
Before 1945 Grabnick was a large Vorwerk in the area of Dönhofstädt ( Polish Drogosze ) in the East Prussian district of Rastenburg . As early as 1785, what was then Garbnicken was a "noble Vorwerk with 5 fireplaces". In 1820 there were 61 residents registered in Garbnick, in 1885 already 93 and in 1905 already 131.
In 1945 Garbnick came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and got the Polish form of the name "Garbnik". Today the hamlet as "Przysiółek wsi" is part of the village Wilkowo Małe (Klein Wolfsdorf) and belongs to the association of the rural community Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński (district Rastenburg ), until 1998 the voivodship Olsztyn (Allenstein) , since then the voivodeship Warmia -Masures associated.

Until 1945 Garbnick was in the parish of the Church Great Wolf village of united evangelical congregations Great Wolf Village - Dönhofstädt in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Prussian Union of churches and the Catholic Church Korschen in the then Diocese of Warmia eingepfarrt.
Today, on the Catholic side, Garbnik belongs to the parish Drogosze (Dönhofstädt) in what is now the Archdiocese of Warmia , and on the Protestant side to the parish Barciany (Barten) , a subsidiary of the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
