Skoczewo ( German  Hermannshof ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński (Rastenburg district) .

Geographical location and transport links

Skoczewo is located 13 kilometers north of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) on voivodship road 591 (here part of the former German Reichsstraße 141 ), which runs from the Russian-Polish border via Barciany and Kętrzyn to Mrągowo (Sensburg) . A railway connection has not existed since the Rastenburg – Barten railway line, which existed before 1945, with the Silzkeim (Polish: Gumniska) station of the Rastenburger Kleinbahnen was taken out of service.

history

The former Vorwerk Hermannshof contributed to 27 April 1865, the name degradation Heilmeyer and belonged before 1945 to the district Rastenburg in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . As a result of the Second World War , Hermannshof came to Poland with southern East Prussia and was given the Polish name "Skoczewo".
