Rzymek ( German  Romberg ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs as part of the village Wilkowo Małe (Klein Wolfsdorf) to the Gmina Barciany (rural community Barten ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Rzymek is a hamlet in the village of Wilkowo Małe (Klein Wolfsdorf) and is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 15 kilometers northwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

Romberg was a Vorwerk of Dönhofstädt ( Drogosze in Polish ) until 1945 and was founded in 1870. On December 12, 1870, it was noted in the Königsberg official gazette: Concerning the newly formed Vorwerk Romberg in the Rastenburg district : The Vorwerk, which was founded on the Feldmark of the village of Groß Wolfsdorf in the Rastenburg district and belongs to the Countess of Stolberg-Wernigeraode in Dönhoffstädt, is the name of the Vorwerk has been settled, but this does not change the communal, police and other conditions. In 1885 the Vorwerk Romberg had 31 inhabitants, in 1905 there were 36.

As a result of the war, the entire southern East Prussia came to Poland in 1945 , which also affected Romberg. Rzymek is on a side road that connects the two voivodship roads DW 590 and DW 592 via Saduny (Sdunkeim) . There is no train connection.
