Gościeradowo ( German  Friedenau ) is an abandoned local office in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It is located in the area of Gmina Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

The Gościeradowo branch is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 18 kilometers north of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German  Rastenburg ).

history

The small town of Friedenau was founded on October 9, 1857 and actually consisted of only one large farm. In the official gazette of the royal Prussian government in Königsberg , 1857, No.43, Ordinance No. 226, one could read: The name Friedenau has been added to the dismantling from the lands of the village of Meisterfelde and the town of Barten, district of Rastenburg, which, however, has not changed anything in the previous municipal, police and other circumstances . Up until 1945, Friedenau was a residential area of the Meistersfelde community ( Gęsiki in Polish ) in the Rastenburg district in East Prussia . In 1905 the small town had 30 inhabitants.

As a result of the war, Friedenau came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Gościeradowo”. Today the place is just an uninhabited hamlet - without residents and without any building. It is assigned to the village of Gęsiki (German Meistersfelde ) and belongs to the rural community Barciany (Barten) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945, Friedenau was parish in the Protestant Church of Barten in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic parish church in Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the Diocese of Warmia .

The ecclesiastical reference to Barciany remained for Gościeradowo after 1945: to the Catholic Church of the Heart of Mary and to the Protestant parish , a branch parish of the Johanneskirche in Kętrzyn .

traffic

The Gościeradowo locality is located on a side street that connects Gęsiki (Meistersfelde) with Suchawa (Sausgörken) . There is no rail link.
