The Spillway Icefall (English for overflow icefall ) is an imposing glacier break in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it flows through the center of the Duncan Mountains to the Amundsen coast and flows into the Ross Ice Shelf .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him at the suggestion of the US geologist Edmund Stump (* 1946) from Arizona State University , who worked in this area between 1974 and 1975. The glacier break reminded Stump of the overflow of a dam .
