The Spital Zweisimmen is a hospital ( Swiss : "Spital") in Zweisimmen in the Bernese Oberland .
The catchment area of the hospital includes the upper Simmental and the Saanenland . In winter, the Gstaad ski areas including the Sex Rouge glacier area and parts of the Adelboden - Lenk ski area are part of the supply area. In order to ensure acute medical care for the population and holiday guests within a maximum radius of 50 kilometers, the hospital was classified as necessary by the Canton of Bern .
In the inpatient area, care is mainly offered in general and trauma surgery , medicine with nephrological care including dialysis and a psychiatric service . For outpatient care there is an emergency medical service staffed by doctors around the clock all year round.
A new clinic has been announced and will open in 2016/2017.
A maternity ward, which existed until 2015, was relocated to the Thun location . Since January 1, 2017, pregnant women whose pregnancy does not show any special risk characteristics can give birth in the neighboring but legally independent maternity home Maternité Alpine .
