The Spitzbach arises in the northwest of the municipality Bärnbach , in the central part of the cadastral municipality Piberegg , southwest of Hof Steiner and northeast of Hof Weberveit. It flows in a flat curve to the left to the northeast. Directly on the border of the cadastral communities Kohlschwarz and Piberegg, it flows northeast of the Leitenhube and Steiner farms and southwest of the Reinthalerhof into the Freisingbach , which then continues flowing.

On its course, the Spitzbach takes on three unnamed watercourses from the right.
