history

Split Image consisted of skinheads and two guitarists from the hard rock scene. Their music was a mix of street and hard rock. From 1992 until her first dissolution she played numerous concerts in Germany and Austria.

Split Image also achieved the status of a recognized band in the Oi! Outside of Paderborn . - and punk scenes. In 1997 Daniel and Mobil left the band. The other three decided to at least record the planned CD and give some concerts that had already been booked. At the end of 1997 the CD Ich bin Ich came out.

In 2007 the reunion album Tod und Teufel was released in the original line-up. The elaborate cover is reminiscent of The Last Supper . From 2010 Split Image played live again and traveled all over Germany to present their new album ... bring light .

Split Image compared themselves musically to the Böhse Onkelz and the band had a similar image, although they clearly opposed the right and left extremes. You are considered to be the co-founder of German Oi! Music. The left label Impact Records brought out three of the four studio albums. The 2010 album was released on KB Records. The band with - for Oi! and punk - often subtle texts, liked to play with double meanings or hidden messages.

On December 1, 2013, the band broke up after 22 years. The last CD, the tribute sampler Marschbefehle, contains cover versions of current German-speaking punk bands and, from 2014, came online as a free download.

Gian-Franco Messina, singer and lyricist with the band, published his first book in 2013 and is a signed author with Impact Books.
