history

Sportpark Berg en Bos has been the sporting home of AGOVV Apeldoorn (Alleen Gezamenlijk Oefenen Voert Verder Apeldoorn) in the Berg en Bos district in Apeldoorn-West on the edge of a forest since 1921 . The main grandstand made of wood with its gable roof and 759 seats, built in 1925, is now a listed building. On April 10, 1949, the AGOVV's championship game against SC Heerenveen attracted a record 25,000 visitors to the sports park. After the renovations in the 2000s, 3,500 spectators filled the sold-out sports park on September 24, 2009 for the second round match in the KNVB Cup 2009/10 against Ajax Amsterdam (1: 2). The sports park was extensively renovated when it was promoted to the second division in 2005. In addition to the relatively small main stand, the old stadium had grass walls with standing room. During the renovation, new tiers with seats were built. This in turn reduced the stadium's capacity from around 10,000 to 3,259 today. The stadium's stands are almost completely covered. Artificial turf has been laid on the pitch since 2006 .

The aim of the club is to move up to the honor division in the next few years . That is why a new stadium was planned in the south of the city. However, this plan was rejected and the aim is to further expand the sports park . Residents protested against the expansion and prevented the construction work.

Since October 2018, the venue received a LED - floodlights .
