Spring Creek is a census-designated place (CDP), a settlement area defined for statistical purposes in central Elko County in northeast Nevada , USA . It mainly serves as a satellite settlement for the shops and industries in and around the nearby town of Elko .
history
The area was bought by McCulloch Oil in the 1970s. In the years to come, the company developed a residential area with 5500 residential units.
geography
Spring Creek lies in a large valley between the Elko Hills in the northwest and the Ruby Mountains in the southeast. To the southwest is the Huntington Valley and some canyons of the Humboldt River , while to the north is the main body of the river.
The capital of Nevada, Carson City , is about 530 kilometers southwest. The town of Elko is about 9.7 km northwest. The urban area extends over an area of 152 km².
