Leap into the Dark is a Czech film. It was shown for the first time in the German-speaking area on May 7, 1965 in GDR cinemas.
action
Three Czech communists are flown to their homeland with Soviet help in 1943. They should re-establish contact with comrades working underground. In doing so, they are exposed to persecution by the Gestapo and betrayal by acquaintances. One of the three, Honza, is arrested on a train, another, Stepan, finally becomes ill from wandering around in occupied Prague. So the last of the three, Karel, has to complete the "job" on his own.
comment
The Progress film program 42 (1965) with a text by Ben Nova appeared to support the film .
criticism
The lexicon of international film saw a “comparatively unpathetic and convincingly staged examination of the time of occupation and resistance”.
