history
After the defeat in the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig , Emperor Napoleon rested on October 21, 1813 with Gottfried Lautenschläger, magistrate and justice of the peace, in the Lautenschläger homestead.
Cities and Großnitz belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg until 1815 . On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality towns was incorporated into Großernitz. Cities were then incorporated into the municipality of Balgstädt on July 1, 2009, together with Großernitz.
location
The village is located between Möllern and Großernitz around four kilometers southwest of Balgstädt on the edge of the Dead Täler nature reserve in a side valley of the Unstrut . An expansion of the nature reserve in the cities area is being planned.
