Permanent Observer of the Holy See at the United Nations in Geneva
The Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in Geneva is the Representative of the Holy See to the United Nations Office in Geneva , Switzerland. Another permanent observer is based in the United Nations in New York .
The permanent observer has the diplomatic rank of apostolic nuncio and is a titular archbishop .
The office was established in 1967. The first two incumbents were simple priests . From Jean Rupp onwards it was titular archbishops.
