Stéphane Gonthier (born December 4, 1972 ) is a former French skeleton athlete .

Stéphane Gonthier lives in La Plagne . He made his international debut in 1996 in the Skeleton World Cup in La Plagne on his home track and was 45 there. In 2000 , he came on the same track on the 21st and thus best place in his 19 World Cup races. He achieved the same placement in his last World Cup race in 2002 in St. Moritz . He took part in the skeleton world championships three times . 1999 he was in Altenberg 26, 2000 in Igls 27 and 2001 in Calgary 25. In 2000 and 2001 he won at the French championships behind Philippe Cavoret them silver medals.
