Stéphane Houcine Nater (born January 20, 1984 in Troyes , France ) is a Tunisian football player of Swiss - French origin.

Career

society

Stéphane Nater came to Switzerland from France at the age of seven . In his youth he played for the Liechtenstein U-17 team, which took part in the Swiss championship and does not require citizenship. His first position as a professional was FC Vaduz in the Challenge League , before moving to Chur 97 in the first division after two unsuccessful years . After three seasons in the Graubünden capital, Nater moved within the league to GC Biaschesi after Biasca . There the FC Schaffhausen noticed him, which signed him for two years. Then Nater switched to Servette. With the Geneva team he was promoted to the Super League . In the 2012/2013 season , the defensive midfielder moved to the newly promoted FC St. Gallen.

There he quickly developed into a top performer and achieved third place with the FCSG, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League . At the beginning of the following season, Nater received a line-up for the Tunisian national team, but could not meet this due to an injury he suffered in the successful play-off second leg in Moscow. In the Europa League away game against FC Valencia , Nater scored his first goal for FC St. Gallen.

National team

In November 2013, Nater was naturalized in Tunisia , two days before the play-off second leg in the World Cup qualification against Cameroon , so that he was now eligible to play for the Tunisian national team. In the 1: 4 defeat against the Cameroonians, however, he was not used despite being called. He played his first game on March 5, 2014 in a 1-1 draw against Colombia when he came on as a substitute for Ferjani Sassi in the second minute of stoppage time in the second half . By March 2015 he had a total of 12 missions without scoring a goal.
