Player career

Galicia

The French Stéphane Pignol played in Spain throughout his professional career. From 1996 to 2003 he was under contract with the Galician association SD Compostela . First, he played with his team for two years in the Primera División until relegation in 1998. In the 1998/99 season, Pignol was loaned to the third division club FC Pontevedra , also in Galicia . After his return he stayed in the Segunda División for two years until Compostela had to start the bitter course in League 3 as fourth from bottom. Pignol also went to Segunda División B and was able to celebrate the return to the 2nd division with his team after only one year. In the summer of 2003 he left the Galicians to sign with the promotion aspirants and league rivals Recreativo Huelva .

The last few years

Although he failed to get promoted with Recre, he still played first-class in the 2004/2005 season. However, after a weak season, his team went down a league again. For this reason he left the team, but continued to play second class himself and signed with Real Murcia . If you played in the first year to stay relegated, Pignol was able to achieve promotion to the Primera División with Murcia in the 2006/2007 season . At the end of the 2007/08 season , he immediately relegated his team. Pignol moved to relegated Real Saragossa , with whom he managed to get promoted in 2009 . He himself had contributed as a regular with 26 assignments.

In 2009 he left Zaragoza for UD Las Palmas . He played with the club in the Segunda División for four years before retiring in 2013.
