Stéphane Stassin (born October 8, 1976 in Braine Le Comte , Hainaut Province ) is a former Belgian football player .

Career

In his youth, Stassin played for Stade Brainois and then for RSC Anderlecht , where he moved up to the professional squad in 1996. He stayed there until 2000, from where he then moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 2nd Bundesliga . With Borussia, he rose to the 1st Bundesliga after one season . He stayed until the summer of 2003 and was then without a club until December 2004, when SCO Angers signed him, with whom he played in Ligue 2. In 2006 he moved back to his homeland to Royale Union Saint Gilloise, with whom he played in the 2nd division . He stayed there until 2008 and moved to Royal Francs Borains, where he stayed until 2010. He then came to Royal Albert Quévy-Mons via Olympic Charleroi, where he played from 2010 to 2011, and then ended his active career.

Since 2010 he has been a youth coach at RSC Anderlecht and during his time at Quévy-Mons was also the assistant coach of the men's team in Quévy-Mons.

His brother Sébastien was also a professional footballer.
