The retaining wall of the Herderschule is a building in Darmstadt .
History and description
The retaining wall of the Herderschule was built from rubble stones in 1906 . The bastion-like retaining wall of the schoolyard at an exposed location in terms of urban planning , with its historic sandstone ornamentation, forms an architecturally distinctive corner formation. The corner pavilion on the retaining wall is reminiscent of the corner towers of Wilhelminian style buildings . The red sandstone corner pavilion has a slate roof. The solid, craftsmanship wrought iron fence lattice and trellis have been preserved intact.
Monument protection
