Coordinates: 49 ° 3 '49 "  N , 25 ° 23' 37"  O The St. Nicholas Church ( Ukrainian Церква святого Миколая / Tserkva Swjatoho Mykolaja ) is an orthodox church buildings in the town Buchach in the west of Ukraine . Since the late 1980s it belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (Eparchy Ternopil). From around 1665 to 1946 it belonged to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGKK). After the Sobor (Synod) of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Lviv in 1946, where, under pressure from the Bolshevik authorities, it was decided to unite with the Russian Orthodox Church , the church belongs to this denomination.

The St. Nicholas Church is the oldest stone church in the city. It was built around 1610. The founders of the church were Maria Amalia Mohylanka (cousin of Petro Mohyla , Metropolitan of Kiev , Galicia and all of Russia ) and her husband Stefan Potocki , who was a magnate , patron , voivode and starost .
