St. Wolfgang Chapel (Aichstetten)
The St. Wolfgang Chapel is a chapel in Aichstetten in the Ravensburg district in Upper Swabia . It is located on the eastern edge of the municipality at the junction of the 7921 district road and the 260 road to Aitrach .
history
At the time of the baroque reconstruction of the chapel from 1711 to 1719, Aichstetten belonged to the territory of the Waldburg family .
In 1990 the Catholic parish of Aichstetten donated the church to the Evangelical parish of Aitrach. Since then, it has been the place of preaching of the Evangelical Church Community of Aitrach within the Evangelical Church in Württemberg, alongside the community hall in Tannheim and the Aitrach community hall .
construction
The retracted choir is vaulted. Attached to the chapel is a remnant of a hermit-later sacristan's house. Inside the spacious chapel there are three altars and a gallery . A scourge Savior has, according to parish chronicle a brother Anthony on a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Scourged Savior brought.
Trivia
The altar leaf with the depiction of the three patrons Willibald , Wunibald and Walburga of the Waldburg-Zeil aristocratic family in the Starkenhofen chapel may have come from the St. Wolfgang chapel in Aichstetten.
