The St. Aegidius branch church is the Roman Catholic village church of Kolbing , a district of the Kraiburg a.Inn market in Upper Bavaria .

history

The church was probably originally built in the late Romanesque style in the 12th century , and then completely changed in the Baroque style around 1759 .

description

The retracted rectangular choir is covered by a Gothic reticulated vault, the ribs of which are chipped off. The single-nave nave , built from thick walls, was originally flat-roofed. In the course of the renovation in 1759 a barrel vault with stitch caps was drawn in.

The handcrafted ceiling frescoes show Saint Wendelin on the vault and Saints Martin , Georg , Philipp and Matthias in the spandrels . A year on the choir arch also indicates the year 1759.

On the west side, a roof turret is attached, which ends with an onion hood .

As a valuable specialty of the district, the Romanesque round apse of the choir of the original church has been preserved on the east side .
