St. Andreas (Bellstedt)
The church of St. Andreas is a Protestant - Lutheran church in Bellstedt .
history
The church was built in the 13th or 14th century. It is unclear whether the choir was built at the same time as the nave, but a later construction in the 15th or 16th century is also possible. Around 1585 repairs of an unknown extent were carried out. On March 22, 1585, Johann Günther I allowed the community to carry out a collection to finance this work. Between 1709 and 1711 the galleries and a box were built. The latter was intended for the then landowners, the lords of Krackenhof. At the end of the 19th century, the staircase on the north side was renewed. Furthermore, were stained glass windows installed. The painting of the choir vault with gold stars on a blue background, which is still preserved today, also dates from this period.
