St. Benedict (Römershag)
The Roman Catholic branch church St. Benedikt is the village church of Römershag , a district of Bad Brückenau in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .
history
Römershag is a branch of the parish of Bad Brückenau, which split from the original parish of Oberleichtersbach in 1694 . The church, formerly the castle chapel , was built between 1751 and 1752 under the lord of the castle, the Fulda abbot Amand von Buseck .
Description and equipment
The church is a rectangular hall with a stitch cap vault and has a roof turret . It can be found in the north wing of the castle. The high altar picture of the church patron and the pictures of the saints Sturmius and Rabanus Maurus were painted by Johann Andreas Herrlein around 1750. The folk altar and ambo are works by Franz Weigand from Oberelsbach and were created in 2008.
