history

The organ

A church was first mentioned in Hohenfelden in 1439. The tower of the originally Romanesque choir tower church , which was rebuilt in the 15th century, is still preserved. In 1718 a mansard roof and a baroque spire were added.

After a village fire in 1810, the nave was rebuilt in its current form. It has a wooden barrel vault and two galleries . The pulpit altar and the wooden font are richly decorated. In 1819 the organ builder Salfelder from Stadtilm delivered an organ for the church.

In 1964 overpainting was carried out during a renovation. Another partial restoration followed in 1999.
