St. Engelbert

St. Engelbert is a Catholic church building at Kassenberger Straße 94 in Oberdahlhausen, Bochum-Dahlhausen . It is a three-aisled , neo-Gothic hall church made of brick . The patron saint is Engelbert I of Cologne .

The architect was Hermann Wielers , and the builder was the Liebfrauen congregation . The foundation stone was laid on May 4, 1902. The benediction took place on June 7, 1903, the consecration on May 9, 1904. In 1904 the rectory was also completed. The expansion to include the west choir and the sacristy took place from 1968 to 1969. It has been a listed building since 2005 .

The last own pastor, Martin Stais, was transferred to Gevelsberg in 2010 . The church belongs to the Bochum parish of St. Franziskus, diocese of Essen .
