St. Fidelis (Berlin)
St. Fidelis is a Roman Catholic cemetery church in Berlin district of Tempelhof the district Tempelhof-Schöneberg . It is located in the cemetery of the St. Matthias Parish .
history
The church was built in the cemetery between 1926 and 1927 at the instigation of the pastor of St. Matthias , Clemens August Graf von Galen . After being destroyed in two bombings in March and August 1943, St. Fidelis Church was rebuilt in a modified form in 1951.
Today the Korean Mission of the Archdiocese of Berlin is based in the St. Fidelis Church.
organ
The organ was built in 2002 by the organ building workshop Hartwig and Tilmann Späth using some of the registers from the previous organ . It replaced the previous instrument, which was built by the Sauer company in the St. Matthias Church in 1946 and transferred in 1958.
