St. Georg in Unterbiberg

St. Georg is a baroque Roman Catholic church in the Neubiberg district of Unterbiberg.

Nothing is known about the history of the previous church. The construction of today's baroque church was started in 1725 by Philipp Jakob Zwerger and finished about 20 years later by Michael Pröbstl . The figure of St. Quirin on the high altar recalls the centuries-long connection between Biberg and the Tegernsee monastery . The baroque Annunciation group and a late Gothic unmounted relief of Anna the third of the party are interesting . This relief shows that St. Georg was an independent parish from 1315 to 1804 with the St. Anna branch in Harlaching . The cemetery surrounding the church is over 600 years old.

Today St. Georg is a branch church of St. Michael in Perlach , a parish in the dean's office in Munich-Perlach .
