Epschenrode Church

The Protestant Church of St. Jacobi is in the Epschenrode district of the Sonnenstein community in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

history

The oldest part of the church dates back to the early Gothic . Due to the well-preserved building from different epochs , the church is an important testimony to the development of the village churches in the region.

The architectural history of the church was the reason to support the parish with funds for maintenance measures in 2010 .

architecture

The church consists of the nave and the church tower, which is axially offset slightly to the north .

Inside there are two-storey, two-sided galleries from the Renaissance as well as the wooden barrel vault and the pulpit altar from the 17th century. The Tudor style windows were installed at the beginning of the 19th century.
