St. Jacob

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Jakobus is a church in the Bavarian town of Poppenhausen in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt . It is one of the architectural monuments in Poppenhausen and is registered under the number D-6-78-168-5 in the Bavarian list of monuments . It is dedicated to the Apostle James .

history

The tower of the church was built in 1517. Today's nave with a gable roof and a baroque west facade was added to it in 1743 .

In 1953 extensive renovations took place with an extension of the church building as well as a redesign of the interior of the church.
