The parish church was built between 1894 and 1896 according to plans by the diocesan master builder Max Meckel . The neo-Gothic church is 30 meters long on the outside and 27 meters on the inside and around 16 meters wide. The side chapels are about 3.5 meters wide. The apex of the central nave is about 9.5 meters, the tower has a height of about 40 meters. The consecration of the church took place on June 4, 1896 the Trier Bishop Karl Ernst Schrod .

The three bells of the church from 1896 came from the Rincker bell and art foundry . In 1917 these bells were melted down for war purposes. In 1947 three new bells were consecrated.

altar

The winged altar was made in 1896 by the J. Rothermundt Art Institute in Nuremberg and set up in the church as a high altar. On the far left is a carved representation of the birth of Jesus , next to it one of the Last Supper . On the right-hand side, the representation of the wedding at Cana and the resurrection of Jesus Christ can be seen axially symmetrical . On the back of the panels there are three carved depictions of saints. On the left side these are Elisabeth of Thuringia , Jakobus d. Ä. and Barbara of Nicomedia , on the right Laurentius of Rome , Catherine of Alexandria and Stephen .

Cross in the chancel

The sanctuary is optically determined by a suspended, oversized cross. This cross was created by Matthias Zens in Ghent and placed in the triumphal arch of the church on December 6, 1919. It was donated by Elisabeth Schall.

organ

The organ dates from 1928 and was made by the master organ builder Peter Klein from Obersteinebach. In 1989 the pipe organ was rebuilt and renewed by the Oberlinger company from Windesheim for a cost of DM 62,204.
