St. John the Baptist (Eppishofen)
The Catholic Chapel of St. John the Baptist in Eppishofen , a district of Altenmünster in the Augsburg district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia , was built in 1760. The chapel on the local road 1 is a protected architectural monument .
description
The gable roof structure has a semicircular end and a roof turret with an onion dome . You enter the chapel through a porch.
Inside there is a rich stucco decoration . The frescoes from the time of construction, with the representation of the Holy Trinity , the Immaculate and John the Baptist , probably originated from Fridolin Kohler . A wooden crucifix and a mother of God are dated around 1500. The wall altar made of marbled and gilded stucco dates from around 1760.
