description

The single-nave church building is a baroque hall church , the sanctuary of which dates from the late Gothic period . The nave over a structure of pilasters and the recessed choir room have flat barrel vaults with stitch caps. The nave ceiling frescoes Nativity, Resurrection, Pentecost (dated and signed) and monochrome apostle medallions were created in 1953 by the neo-baroque painter Josef Wittmann , as was the choir fresco Katharina von Engeln raised to Sinai . The drafts of the Wittmann frescoes with his drafts for church painting are in the Diocesan Museum of Regensburg. The frame stucco is modern . The high altar and the two side altars are in neo-baroque style. The decorated tabernacle comes from the Franciscan Church in Amberg and was created around 1730.
