Parish Church of St. Kunibert, Blatzheim

The Church of St. Kunibert is the Roman Catholic parish church of the Blatzheim district of the Kolping town of Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ). The church is registered under No. 54 in the list of monuments (see list of monuments in Blatzheim ).

history

The church was mentioned as early as 1300 in the Liber valoris . It was built from 1923 to 1925 in the neo-baroque style to replace the previous Gothic building while retaining the tower from 1605 and consecrated by Cardinal Karl Joseph Schulte on July 1, 1925 . The church's bell tower dates from 1605.

Furnishing

The church's furnishings include the neo-baroque high altar from 1927/1928, the windows, which were created in 1923/24 according to plans by Heinrich Oidtmann from Linnich , the Klais organ from 1929 and the Way of the Cross , which was designed by the Blatzheim artist Ferdinand Müller created in 1846.
