Ortisei in Sindorf

St. Ulrich is the old Roman Catholic parish church and today's branch church of the Kerpen district of Sindorf in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The church belongs to the parish of St. Maria Königin, Sindorf.

The church is entered under number 45 in the list of architectural monuments in Sindorf (Kerpen) and dedicated to St. Consecrated to Ulrich von Augsburg .

history

A church in Sindorf was first mentioned around 1300 in the liber valoris . The old church in Sindorf is a three-aisled, Gothic hall church with a three- story bell tower in front and a five-sided closed choir in the east. The church was built around 1484 after the previous building collapsed in the middle of the 15th century. In 1805 the church had to be renovated after a fire. During World War II , Ortisei was damaged by shelling. This damage was repaired around 1950.

Since the old parish church had become too small for the vastly grown Sindorf, today's parish church of St. Maria Königin was built between 1953 and 1956 according to plans by Fritz Schaller . With this, St. Ulrich lost its parish church status and was downgraded to a branch church.

Furnishing

In the church there is a Gothic sacrament niche, a baptismal font from the 15th century, on it a brass lid from 1660 and two confessionals from the beginning of the 19th century. The stained glass windows are free compositions by Wilhelm Buschulte from 1959.

organ

The organ was built in 2010 by the company Weimbs Orgelbau from Hellenthal and inaugurated on May 2nd, 2010. The instrument was set up at ground level in the church. The slider chest instrument has eleven stops on two manual works and a pedal . The registers of the solo work are registers of the main work on alternating loops; only Gedackt 8 ′ is a real transmission so that this register, which is important for the liturgy, can be played on both manuals at the same time. The playing and stop actions are mechanical. The instrument is equipped with a tremulant.
