St. Lambertus (Witterschlick)
The St. Lambertus Church is the Catholic parish church of Witterschlick , a district of the municipality of Alfter in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It stands as a monument under monument protection .
history
At the current location, two predecessor churches can be identified, the first in the form of a wooden chapel for the time of Charlemagne and the second from 1180 as a Romanesque stone church. The latter was demolished in 1875 and a new, neo-Gothic church building was erected as a three-nave hall church by 1877 .
During the Second World War , the church building was destroyed except for the bell tower in 1944. Four of the five bells were destroyed, a bronze bell from 1927 was preserved. The reconstruction took place until 1954 with the addition of a small nave to the bell tower. Due to the rapid growth of the community, the church was expanded in 1968 to include a rectangular choir . Today the church has five bells again.
organ
The church has a two-manual Sandtner - organ with 27 stops on a balcony above the main entrance. The playing and stop actions are mechanical.

Bells
In 1927 the renowned Otto bell foundry from Hemelingen / Bremen cast a four-part ringing of bronze bells with the chimes: es '- ges' - as '- b' for St. Lambertus. After the three larger bells fell victim to the Second World War, it was decided in 1951 to cast four new steel bells for the parish church in Versuchsrippe (V7). The small Otto bell from 1927 from the inter-war bell is still there.
