The church

The Protestant village church of St. Laurentius is in the Etzleben community in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia .

history

Before 1500 the choir basement and the church tower were built. Around 1700 the baroque nave and the bell storey were built. Since then, the cemetery has been part of the church property .

architecture

It is a choir tower church with a polygonal choir palace. The tower has a curved octagonal dome with a lantern . The windows of the church are narrow arched windows with muntins .

The nave has a gable roof . The choir is protected by a hipped roof . The barrel vault is made of wood. Inside, next to the altar, there is a baptismal font , a lectern , the stalls and the galleries as well as the organ and other church objects. The memorial plaque for the fallen soldiers is also in the church.
