history
With the arrival of many members of the Roman Catholic Church after the Second World War, the desire arose to build a new church. The Marienkirche was completed in 1964 on a plot of land around 2.5 meters above sea level on Beethovenallee and Gurlittstrasse. In 1967 the church became a parish church. In addition to former expellees and their descendants, formative groups within the community are now immigrants from southern and western Germany, Poland , Italy , Portugal , Croatia and the former Soviet Union .
