St. Martin (Meckfeld)
The Protestant village church St. Martin in the district of Meckfeld in the city of Bad Berka in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia is centrally located in the village. It belongs to the parish of Klettbach in the Weimar parish of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
history
The original choir tower church was first mentioned in a document in 1219. After the 13th century it was rebuilt several times. The furnishings, including the pulpit altar, are largely from the baroque reconstruction in 1728. In 1794, the church tower was given its current height with an octagonal tower floor, a curved dome and an open lantern . Around 1900 the interior was repainted with Art Nouveau elements.
