history

inside view

After the Catholic population of Keilberg had belonged to the parish of Irlbach for a long time, the foundation stone for the construction of the parish church of St. Michael was laid in 1929. The church planned by Max Wittmann was completed a year later. The church replaced a wooden bell tower and is still the highest building in Regensburg today. In 1960 the parish home was built with the associated kindergarten. In 1963, Keilberg was finally raised to the status of an independent parish. She is currently forming a parish community with the Holy Spirit .

Buildings and equipment

The church is a hall building with a retracted choir, choir flank tower, sign and two-tone pointed barrel vault in Zollinger style with a diamond-shaped structure. The interior figurines are remarkable, mainly by Max Reiger, a student of Guido Martini, and the two glass windows in the chancel from the time it was built.
