history

The church served as the chapel of Grillenberg Castle in the pre-Reformation period . The east tower was built in the 13th century. The lower part was already used as a sanctuary at that time . The sacraments niche , which is now closed with a door, is located in the triumphal arch .

The baptismal font was donated by Melchior von Morungen and his wife Anna. Melchior died after a note on the font in 1556. The church was rebuilt and changed again and again. A button festival was held on August 23, 1891 .

From 1904 the church was dismantled piece by piece and rebuilt on the foundation walls. On October 2nd, 1905 the church was consecrated again by General Superintendent Höhndorf.

The heated community room has existed since 1962. In 1987 an old bell broke , which has now been erected in the area and has been replaced. The new tinny sound bothered the citizens, so a bronze clapper had to help . The little church is renovated.

The organ was installed in 1858 by the organ builder Menzel from Wolferstedt . At that time it cost 330 thalers .
