history

Kleinwenkheim, which had belonged to the Wermerichshausen parish since 1180 , used to have a church outside the village. This became dilapidated in the 16th century. That is why the church was built on its current location from 1589. In 1819 there was an extension to the west.

Description and equipment

The nave has three window axes. The tower in Julius Echter's style stands on the north side, the large sacristy was added to the south. The three-eighths choir with four windows (pointed arch like the nave windows) is in the east. The middle choir window is held in red. The side altars in the Rococo style (around 1750) come from the demolished Bildhausen monastery church . Further pieces of furniture from there can be found in Brno (altarpiece) and in Wegfurt (left side altar). Reliquary containers, pulpit , baptismal font and sacrament niche are post-Gothic and were created at the end of the 16th century.
