St. Peter is a village in the city of Dormagen in the Rhine district of Neuss .

St. Peter borders the village of Stürzelberg in the east . The little hamlet of Nachtigall is located south of St. Peter . In the west the town of Delrath and in the north the town borders on the Rhine and the city of Neuss.

history

From 1815 St. Peter belonged to the mayor's office of Zons in the Neuss district in the Kingdom of Prussia. Since January 1st, 1975 St. Peter is a place in the city of Dormagen.

economy

In 1914 the future Stürzelberger Hütte was built west of St. Peter. Ores were initially stored here. In 1925 a carbon black factory was built on Bundesstrasse 9. In 1954, a plant for Beton- und Monierbau AG , Düsseldorf, was also built on Bundesstrasse 9 . In 1962, the Pentosin factory settled in St. Peter. In 1979 the foundation stone for AEG Telefunken was laid in St. Peter. In August 1985 a poison scandal broke out north of St. Peter, a former zinc smelter near the Silbersee.
