The Church of St. Peter and Paul is a Catholic church and is located in the center of Neufarn , a district of Vaterstetten in the Bavarian district of Ebersberg . It was consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul (Saul). The church has been the branch of Markt Schwaben since the Landsham parish was dissolved in 1881 . It is under the file no. D-1-75-132-3 entered in the list of monuments.

history

In 1083, when the Rott / Inn monastery was founded , the Neufarn church was also mentioned as a property of the monastery and in 1151 by Pope Eugene III. approved. In 1860 the Neufarner church was in such bad shape that it could no longer be used. In 1861 there were first considerations for the demolition of the old church and a new building, but the financing failed.

The current church was built between 1866 and 1868 in the neo-Gothic style . It has a 41 m high tower with a pointed crown that carries a bell weighing around 350 kg. The designs came from the district building officer Kurt Klump from Munich, the work was carried out by master mason Starck from Erding and master carpenter Mathias Meyer from Munich. In 1896 the church got an organ. In 1934 this organ was defective and was replaced by a used one from Glatzel from Altmühldorf at a price of 4000 Reichsmarks.

In 1980 the Neufarner church was renovated from the outside, the walls were drained and repainted. The costs amounted to approx. 185,000 DM. In 2002 the order for a new organ was awarded to the Staller company from Grafing. The new organ was inaugurated on June 16 of the same year with a solemn high mass.
