history
The Protestant parish church of St. Petri was first mentioned in 1096. The current church was originally a single nave, dedicated to St. Michael the 13th century vault construction, which was later converted into a two-aisled late Gothic hall church with a three-sided choir. It was restored after a fire in 1683. The half-timbered east gable dates from this time . As part of a renovation carried out after 1902, the transverse gable roofs were created. During this time, the Romanesque west tower with the Gothic stepped gables received its new copper dome.
Furnishing
Remains of late Gothic vault paintings are preserved inside the church. The furnishings include a pulpit from the beginning of the 18th century and a font marked in 1772 . One chandelier is marked 1681.
More buildings
The church has a cantor's house that was built between 1806 and 1808 after the former cantor's house fell victim to a fire in 1804. Gottfried Möllenstedt , who later became the rector of the University of Tübingen, was born in this house in 1912 .
