organ

The Protestant village church of St. Trinitatis is located in the Sohnstedt district of the Grammetal community in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . The parish belongs to the parish association Klettbach in the parish of Weimar of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

It is located in the northeast corner of the Rundlingdorf and is easily accessible for believers and visitors.

history

The church was originally a Romanesque choir tower church . In 1717 it was redesigned in baroque style. The church tower was built in 1729.

Interior

A covered staircase on the outside leads to the surrounding galleries from the beginning of the 18th century. They show painted parapet panels with depictions of scenes from the life of Christ and the apostles by Johann Christoph Koch. The baroque pulpit altar dates from 1775. A medieval chest with iron fittings has also been preserved. The organ by Franciscus Volckland (1696–1779) cannot be played on and is badly damaged. It was built around 1740 and has 11 stops on two manuals and a pedal .

State of refurbishment

In 1990 the church was about to deteriorate. The church was saved with funding and personal commitment. The work came to a preliminary conclusion with the rededication of the pulpit altar in 2008; the historical organ still needs to be restored.
