St. Ursula Wernburg

The Protestant Church of St. Ursula is in the municipality of Wernburg in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

history

The church is said to have existed as a chapel or church before the 12th century.

The nave has a rectangular apse to the east . Under the tower a staircase leads up to the patron s lodge from the 19th century. The large baptismal font is provided with a discharge. The delicate pulpit altar is adorned with an altar painting. The otherwise unadorned pulpit is surrounded by a small gallery . Pictures with biblical motifs are part of the equipment.

Under the sideways north on nave standing tower is a vault . Two bells from 1619 hang in the tower .

The organ , created in 1859 by Friedrich Wilhelm Dornheim, was rebuilt in 1938 by the Poppe company.
